John Bohnenkamp joins the pod to talk about a big week for Iowa basketball and we look back to how the world changed one year ago at the Big Ten Tournament. We also talk All-Big Ten teams and Luka Garza locking up the Player of the Year. Then Kyle Huesmann joins us to preview the upcoming Iowa baseball season, which gets underway this weekend.

It was a huge win for the Hawkeyes on Sunday at Ohio State. Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo break it down from the all angles and look at Iowa’s improved defensive effort. We also discuss the best wins of the McCaffery era and why this one might be #1 and we take a look at the state of the Big Ten race and where Iowa lands. It was a record setting Sunday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena as Luka Garza became Iowa’s all time leading scorer in men’s basketball. Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo look back at the win over Penn State and Garza setting the record. We also dive into the Luka vs. Ayo for Player of the Year debate and have an extended discussion about the Big Ten race heading into the final two weeks of the season. Then we wrap up with two new 2022 QB offers being extended.

It’s not often we get to talk about 30 point wins in basketball at Michigan State, but that’s what we do on this podcast. We look back at the Hawkeyes win over the Spartans, the hot shooting of Joe Wieskamp, and we discuss the state of the Big Ten race. Iowa getting back on the winning track means that Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo need to do a second podcast this week. We look back at Iowa’s win over Rutgers and the hot shooting streak that Joe Wieskamp is currently on. Then we dive into the decision by Mark Kallenberger to end his football career and Iowa’s options at tackle. We also discuss two assistant coaches leaving the Hawkeye football team and some options for Iowa to hire to take over the critical offensive line position.

This week on the podcast, Matt Randazzo returns to join Tom Kakert and they discuss Iowa basketball’s losing streak and some thoughts on the defeat at Indiana. We also discuss the importance of C.J. Fredrick to the Hawkeyes. Then we look at the overall view of the Big Ten and wrap up looking at 2022 football recruiting for Iowa.

After a tough loss for the Hawkeyes, we needed a voice of reason, so John Bohnenkamp joins us to discuss the defeat on Thursday to Ohio State. We discuss potential changes to the lineup and rotation and how to fix the Iowa defense. We also look at a new football schedule for the Hawkeyes in 2021 and what is means for the season ahead.

On Sunday Missouri pulled out of the 2020 Music City Bowl due to an outbreak of Covid-19, which ended Iowa’s football season. Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo discuss what happened, and a very newsy Kirk Ferentz press conference that followed. Then we dive into the Iowa basketball team losing to Minnesota and the unnecessary panic that has resulted from it and look ahead to a big game on Tuesday night against Northwestern.

It was a very busy week for the Hawkeyes on several fronts. Tom Kakert and Matt Randazzo open the pod discussing Iowa football pausing football for five days as they hopefully prepare for the Music City Bowl. Tom Kakert and Blair Sanderson break down the 2021 group for the Hawkeyes, which includes five four star prospects and we look ahead to the 2022 group and some targets there, plus what holes are left to fill for the 2021 group.
