Sega Mixer Drive... With Rexy

A listening party close to the end of the Season. Familiar? In this week's SMD, the audience heard the entirety of the Sound of the Sonic Stadium '14 there FIRST! And with DJ EAR in the co-host spot this week, it could only mean insanity... and turducken.

The last Free-For-All of the season saw pre-release hype for the Sound of the Sonic Stadium '14, some teasing with the Source Roulette and the outputs of the latest Punchfest competition. Most importantly, Rexy defied the oral surgeons and hosted it LIVE!

Slap between the Japanese and European anniversaries, this week's SMD blast-processed beats out of the Mega Drive. Enjoy 2 hours of remixes covering some of the 16-bit system's finest works and soundtracks - if you're a 90s kid, you're in for a treat!

Happy Halloween! This week's episode is dedicated to Sega remixes with a sinister undead theme, whether by source or by mix direction. Tricks and treats were aplenty, though one lucky IRC goer got more treats this week than they bargained for...!

Still exciteable after the events of Play Expo earlier that month, Rexy not only had tales to tell from the event but also delivering 2 hours of remixes including another tough Source Roulette, a lot of bounces, and... Marble Zone being the new Ice Cap?!

The second Free-For-All for October was an impromptu pre-Play Expo show with our host looking forward to the Manchester event that weekend. But don't panic - there was still enough looking back at what the week had as well as... a Sega Saturn moment? Huh?

After a packed September, could October be a more relaxing month on SMD in spite of 2 upcoming themed weeks? Let's find out with the first Free-For-All of the new month, complete with choice picks, listener picks and... puyos? Ths IS SMD, right?

Month's end means world's end again - stepping up towards this week's VS Week, it's a collision between the Believers and the City Folk in some bizarre collision between optimism and realism. Could this be our most deep-thinking VS edition yet?

What's this, me hearties? A free-for-all on Talk Like a Pirate Day? Sounds like a big fish story to me - sure we had hidden treasures and delicious hornpipes from all corners of the seven seas, but there be more tales on the high seas than that! Yaaaargh!

15 years of knowing of the Dreamcast's existance? Who would've believed it? SMD marks the occasion by going through 2 hours of arrangements covering some of the 128-bit system's most memorable titles... and Sonic Shuffle. Hey, anything can go right?

Refusing to go under iced water, Rexy takes the Ice Bucket Challenge in a different way - 2 hours of icy/watery remixes from across the community! Proceeds were donated to the ALS Association and National Autistic Society - other donors are still welcome!

SMD's 5th VS Week had a simple yet amusing clash - the Jet Pilots flew into battle against the homicidal Mr Zurkons! Their weapons? Just a selection of loosely-related remixes in a musical showdown - 2 hours worth of it!

This time last year, SMD dedicated a show to all things British. On this show however, the scope expanded to the entire continent through the Sega Euro Drive! Enjoy 2 hours of remixes and arrangements from not only the UK but its continental brothers too!

August may have not been as eye-catching so far, but with a new theme announcement for the following week as well as a huge trip down memory lane for our host, this so-called regular show may have been anything BUT regular... right?

Gaming con fever is getting into swing across the world, and a fair chunk of tonight's SMD showed it! Another fair chunk, on the other hand, took Rexy through a Source Roulette game that she had no knowledge of whatsoever. Even the pros have to wing it!

After getting another year older, Rexy got through the first regular SMD of August, with 2 hours of remixes, arranged tunes, community news... and the start of support for a 20th Anniversary game release in October... but listen in to find out what it is!
