Dr. Rectenwald became an epicenter of controversy at NYU after it was revealed that he was the man behind the Twitter account @AntiPCNYUProf , from which he sent tweets decrying the recent push for "politically correct" speech on his and many other college campuses.  Dr. Rectenwald's journey is fascinating. He was a far left progressive commentator and upon rejecting the Democratic Party after the election of Obama was pushed even further left to become a full-fledged Marxist. But in recent years, social justice and PC culture led to him re-examining the entirely of his political belief system, to the point that he now identifies as a libertarian.
