Sinopse
Are Latinos Really Realigning Toward Republicans?: Tidy narratives about changing electoral outcomes often miss key data points. Once the backbone of the Democratic base, working-class white voters have been migrating toward the Republican Party since the 1960s, largely out of alienation from the Democrats’ liberal stands on cultural and racial issues. Half a century later, those working-class white voters—usually defined as having less than a four-year college education—have become the indisputable foundation of the Republican coalition, especially in the era of Donald Trump. America will remain a white majority nation for the foreseeable future because of this: Latino is not a race, and Latinos come in all hues. And guess what? 60% say they are white. Latinos & others are up for grabs because of political malpractice by the establishment Democrats. Instead of asking Washington consultants, Democrats should go into the communities they want through the year and not just for a vote. --- Send in a
