There is always a path to your Future Self. Sometimes we’re not ready. So we stop doing the work. We stop being honest with ourselves. We force. We hide. We keep from getting the help we need. Once you’ve opened the portal to your Future Self that denial to become her causes upheaval and it’s not fun. It can also feel like that upheaval takes us further from our Future Self.  And the one thing I know for sure is that there is always a path to your Future Self. When you don’t take the first one she set out for you, you might have to travel through the dark and lonely woods, but on the other side will be a new path.  There isn’t only one path to your Future Self. And she will always lay a new path for you when you’re ready. While in moments Kate denied her Future Self by not stepping into her, her Future Self always had her back.  When Kate didn’t step through one door, her Future Self would show her another option.  In Kate’s case it was a job that supported her while she transitioned more into her Future Self
