The head of Harris County’s governing body, Judge Lina Hidalgo, visited the Kingwood Area Democrats, Humble Area Democrats, and other active Area Democratic groups for our belated 4th of July celebration. Judge Lina Hidalgo raced down from her commitments at the Texas Legislature in Austin to be with this amalgamation of groups. Many of our incumbent Democratic judges roamed the 150+ attendees for ballot signatures. Grassroots in action is a beautiful thing. Just before the fireworks and the speeches from our incumbents and other politicians running in 2022 and beyond, Lina Hidalgo hit the deck on a high note. She first acknowledged the new Harris County Democratic Party Chair, Odus Evbagharu. Judge Hidalgo then gave a fighting speech on battling for our Democracy. She pointed out the county’s successes, increasing the vote by a large percentage not only for Democrats but for all Harris County voters.
