Tell me something good... about the church. [Rom 1:8-9 NASB] 8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your FAITH is being proclaimed throughout the whole world. What does it mean that one's faith is being proclaimed? Well, here's what it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean that "their own personal gospel" is being proclaimed. Remember faith is trust, and that is all. Paul is saying that their trust in Jesus Christ is being talked about. But how do others know of our faith, our trust? Our works! All Biblical writers know faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Faith either has feet, or it doesn't exist! So another answer to our question of 'what makes for a great church' is that a great church has demonstrable faith!
