The New Testament both encourages the gift of prophecy and gives guidance for its proper use. The scriptures (Old & New Testaments) show us how to properly make biblical judgments so the hearer is edified and helped by this gift. This study gives ten tests that fall into three categories: the character and conduct of the speaker, the content of the prophetic word, and its effect upon the hearer.
