Voices Of The Rising

This is the tenth episode in a series of audio stories from the Easter 1916 archives of the National Library of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland. The stories are narrated by Katherine McSharry, Head of Outreach with the National Library of Ireland and Irish voice artist Niall O Sioradáin. IN the 10th episode Katherine McSharry reads a letter written by Lily O’Brennan, who was a member of Cumann na mBan; Eamonn Ceannt was her brother-in-law. She was stationed at Jameson’s Distillery throughout Easter Week 1916. In this account from the 1930s, she recalls the beginning and end of the week.
