Voices Of The Rising

This is the latest episode in a series of audio stories from the Easter 1916 archives of the National Library of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland. The stories are narrated by Katherine McSharry, Head of Outreach with the National Library of Ireland and Irish voice artist Niall O Sioradáin. In this episode, Niall O'Sioradáin reads an extract from the notebook of James Plunkett, who was one of the seven signatories of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic. Plunkett scribbled down notes, describing events that were taking place in Dublin during the Rising and also wrote a letter to his future wife and widow, Grace Gifford.
