NO ONE, I REPEAT - NO ONE IS SELF-MADE. It’s a myth to think that someone made it all by themselves. That they had zero help and they used all of their own resources to win in life. The fact is, EVERYONE gets help to the top. We need it. People use the term self-made as a way to identify they’ve made it through all of the struggles and had (what they perceive) as minimal help along the way. Self-made is a selfish term. It denies all of the people that have helped you along your journey. It denies all of the sacrifices others have made for you to get to where you are today.
