And as much as we don't desire to think those who assert they've known us the longest are capable of using snippets of our pasts against us, we know or know someone else who should have thought again. And if the adult child is married, it can get painfully messy. Thwarted emotional and spiritual growth is in jeopardy of stagnating as emotional blackmail continues. Breaking away to pursue individual purpose and so as to build healthy familial relationships so soon out of a nest occupied too long complicates the "Gift Of Letting Go" gracefully. Let's talk about how fear within a family pretends to portray itself as love. It is regressively fear-based and often occurs when the parents could not or would not become 'as one' and the identity wrapped up in the parental purpose becomes threatened.
