"Whereunto I also labor, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily" (Colossians 1:29). The Word of God opens with the moving of the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:2 says, "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." The word "moved" also means "to brood, flutter, shake." It is the picture of a mother hen brooding over her chicks. Matthew Henry states, "The Spirit of God was the first mover. The Spirit of God begins to work, and if He work, who or what shall hinder?" I love the words of the song, which is the cry of my heart.
