Continuing our series '50 Years of Chelsea' looking back, season by season, from the FA Cup winning 1970 season to present day; Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd and Mark Meehan, author of 'Eddie Mac' and formerly editor of the 'Chelsea Independent' fanzine, look back at the 1988-89 season.With Chelsea having been relegated via a play off the previous season, Chelsea supporters mood was darkened further by an FA imposed terrace ban for the first 6 matches of the new season. The lack of vocal home support seemed to affect Bobby Campbell's charges with a miserable start of 3 points in the first 6 games leaving them in 20th. But a stroke of luck in a 2-0 win away to Leeds United turned the season around.Chelsea embarked on a run of 27 games unbeaten to win the Division Two title with a record 99 points, scoring 96 goals with a three pronged attack of Kerry Dixon, Gordon Durie and Kevin Wilson.
