Sharing the story of how, from the beginning, she has pursued writing and the visual arts simultaneously. When working in photography, it is true that the visual images illustrated the writing, although in photography, at first the writing explained the pictures--although that is not what motivated Niela to pick up the tape-recorder and, subsequently, the pen. Painting came later, when she wanted to immerse herself in color, but the painting and writing have always been separate processes.
