Sinopse

Created in the countries laying across equatorial Central Africa, the Rumba-Congolaise is the most influential musical form within the continent of Africa itself. While other genres such as Afrobeat , Juju or Mbalax may be more well know in other parts of the world, Rumba-Congolaise and it's direct descendant Soukouse, continue to dominate the African musical landscape to this day. Although the roots of Rumba-Congolaise, and it's ties to the Afro-Cuban son, extend far back into the 19th Century, this series explores the monumental genesis that electrified instrumentation brought to this artform during the late 1960's and 1970's. . 1.
