Wait times for breast cancer treatment in Ontario, including surgeries, are currently longer than provincial guidelines. This is leading to less patients getting the care they need and getting testing to ensure that they're not getting any sicker than they might already be. During the pandemic, the Ontario Medical Association states that there were 400,000 fewer mammograms performed, leading to patients not knowing of any potential cancer.
