The Cincinnati Reds suffered a crushing 11-5 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday in Sacramento, letting another golden opportunity slip away in the NL Wild Card race. With both the Mets and Giants losing, the Reds had a chance to gain ground but instead faltered badly. Hunter Greene endured his worst outing of the season, failing to escape the third inning. The Athletics later broke the game wide open with a five-run eighth inning to put it out of reach.
