The Cincinnati Reds pulled off a thrilling 8-4 comeback win over the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon at Comerica Park. Down 4-2 in the 8th, the Reds erupted for four runs to take a 6-4 lead, sparked by a gutsy move from manager Terry Francona, who brought in closer Emilio Pagán to secure the inning’s biggest outs. Elly De La Cruz added the exclamation point in the 9th, homering for the fourth straight game to seal the win. It was arguably the Reds’ biggest victory of the season, snapping a 39-series losing streak when dropping Game 1 and doing it on the road against MLB’s top team.
