After graduating from Freeport High School in 2001, she attended Temple University in Philadelphia as a Pre-Pharmacy major for two years and worked as a certified Pharmacy Technician for eight years. She transferred schools and graduated with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from Queens College in 2006. Ultimately, she came to a realization that her calling was to become an educator.
