Dunedin residents are preparing for a deluge of rain. A red heavy rain warning is in force for North Otago, Dunedin and coastal Clutha today and tomorrow. Otago Civil Defence says people should only travel tonight if absolutely necessary - to avoid getting caught up in rising rivers or streams.
