Sinopse

Pride. Love's on fire in 1969 & 2015. The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous, violent demonstrations by members of the gay community against a series of police raids at gay bars. This took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn, located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. They are widely considered to constitute the single most important events leading to the queer liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQIA rights in the United States. I continue to recognize these violent days of civil disobediance every June at Pride in June. Property was damaged. Police were scared and took shelter in the Stonewall bar cause they were in fear ("Oh god the gays are gonna get me and make me gay." As if...). Demonstrations and YES so called "riots" have a place in our democracy when there is no other option. Don't let anyone tell you they don't. I honor these "riots" and those that have to unfortunately continue today. #BlackLivesMatter #I
