Sinopse
Fear. Reverential fear. Fear of the Lord. The word fear is used over 300 times in the Holy Bible in direct reference to God. Yet, many people, including and perhaps especially Christians, do not understand the nature of the fear that is referenced in the bible. In an article archived in Christianity Today, author William Eisenhower succinctly stated: “When we assume that the world is the ultimate threat, we give it unwarranted power, for in truth, the world& #x27;s threats are temporary.” Indeed, many Christians fear the threats of and from the world and earthly things, yet lack the proper fear of the Lord. Fear of God is a good thing, yet we read in Proverbs, Chapter 9, verse 10 that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding,” and in Matthew, Chapter 10, verse 28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” [KJV] So, what does this all mean?
