This week on Windy City Irish Radio, we mourn the loss of a couple of rockers with unexpected Irish ties. The late great, Ric Ocasek of the The Cars, was the man behind the board producing the Black 47 classic record Fire of Freedom in the early 90's and had a tremendous impact on Larry Kirwan of Black 47 and the band. Eddie Mahoney, otherwise known as Eddie Money, thought about becoming a NYC police officer like his father but wanted to keep his long hair and made his way out to LA to become a rock star instead. The rest, of course, is rock n' roll history.
