We are absolutely thrilled to have the fabulous Bri Luna of The Hoodwitch on the podcast today to talk about one of her favorite movies, She-Devil! The 1989 flick stars Roseanne Barr as a jilted housewife who devises a long-con revenge on her cheating husband and the romance novelist who stole him (Meryl Streep in one of her most underrated roles). Costume designer Albert Wolsky takes the characters through a fantastical voyage of clothes, beginning with caricatures of extreme femininity and stereotypes of the forgotten housewife, then into a transformation that is both sartorial and spiritual. It’s a makeover like no other! Bri opens our eyes to the movie’s many unseen layers: looking at it through a magickal lens, and how the two main characters can be interpreted as Lilith and Eve.
