Don't lose track of how many pushups you have done, download a spreadsheet to document how many you have done and how many you have left by CLICKING HERE. Some people have told me that they have been getting sore from all the pushups and my recommendation would be to try to change up how you are doing the pushup and how man you are doing. Keep your sets light and just do them frequently. After so many pushups with your elbows close, do some with your elbow out. Do some pushups with a narrow hand position and some wide.
