On August 31st 2014 Mijk van Dijk played the closing set at New Healing Festival at Badesee Preddöhl in the beautiful Nort-East-German Prignitz area. Mijk played his favourite deep and melodic Tech House tunes and presented all the 3 tracks of his upcoming "Bleibtreu"-EP (with Rummy Sharma) in the middle of his set. Out late September on BluFin.

Walfisch Berlin was THE classic Afterhour club in the early 90s in Berlin. Doors would open by 10 am in the morning and the party would be at its peak at 4 pm in the afternoon. The music was new black polished chrome and came over the summer like liquid night. Once or twice a year the Walfisch Revival crew around Steffi and Felix throws a revival party and it was a big pleasure to play there. I only played records that were 20 years old or more, some hits, some secret pearls. Since I played only vinyls, you can hear the people screaming im calm passages, picked up from the microphonic turntable stylus. :-) That doesn't happen with mp3 anymore. Same like needle jumps and sloppy mixes due to beer and cigarettes, so please excuse the human touch in this set and enjoy the energy flash from 20 years ago.

Another year is almost gone, time to look back on the best tracks of 2012 in NuFunk. Most of these tunes have been played on my radio show »Motherfunk« on BLN.fm. I played this set at the BLN.fm Christmas party at M.I.K.Z. Dienstagswelt on December 11th 2012, but the recording device did not work properly so I recreated this DJ mix from the original playlist. After the brute assault on the good people of French satire magazine Charlie Hebdo I have been discussing a lot with friends, how we can act in response to this. My main comment always was that no matter if Christian, Muslim, Jew or Gentile: we are the people! And we must stand together against oppression, may it come from terrorists or politicians who want to divide us for their own agenda. Early in 2012 I did a DJ mix for Merlyn Martin's radio show Subdivisions. For the intro I mixed the famous inspirational speech by Charlie Chaplin from the movie The Great Dictator. This speech consoles me again in these dark and stormy days and nurtures my belief, that humanity can prevail after all. Here's that mix again with proper intro and ending and my sincer hope that you will feel inspired as well to stand strong, live your life free and without fear and speak out in favour of the people, of all people of this microglobe that we call planet Earth. We are all Charlie! We are all Ahmed!

Kaori was the featured vocalist on Mijk's 2010 track "Without A Word". Mijk's tribute for that very special time he had again in beloved Japan.
