Beachside Lighting (Sister Power)
31/05/2019 Duração: 28minLike what you see? Please give generously. http://www.thinktechhawaii.com On Sister Power. Beachside Lighting was started in Hawaii in 1994 with the intent of building a reputable line of quality exterior lighting fixtures. This came as a result of wondering why so many ocean side estates on Honolulu's prestigious Kahala Avenue had landscape lighting that was literally falling apart. The answer was in the materials used: plastic, powder-coated aluminum, and even steel. It was no secret that copper and various brass alloys had proved themselves for centuries in near ocean environments. Thus, an exclusively copper and brass line of landscape fixtures was born. The host for this episode is Sharon Thomas Yarbrough.

31/05/2019 Duração: 16minLike what you see? Please give generously. http://www.thinktechhawaii.com Screen Time Reset. Today on Screen Time Reset, we talk with high school sophomore Buddy Leong to get a student's perspective on how screens are influencing teens' lives in and out of school. Buddy believes that tech provides valuable benefits to teens today, but he also acknowledges many students do not take advantage of these benefits and instead fall into counter-productive habits that end up wasting a lot of time (it's worth noting that plenty of adults do too). Adults often assume that students are staunchly pro-tech, but Buddy demonstrates that some, maybe even most, students have conflicted and nuanced opinions on tech and are more weary of the harms than adults might assume.
