From 1990-1993 he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Iowa, then returned home to teach history at Punahoul. In 2000 he began teaching history, economics and Hawaiian studies at La Pietra. From 2010 to 2014 He taught history at ‘Iolani and served on their EdTech team.Hecompleted a masters in the Foundations of Education at UH Manoa in 2001.
