Come along with me, Shaun Newman, as I track down unique stories centered around current & past athletes. I am a former Junior A, Division 3 hockey player. I spent a short cup of coffee in Finlands Suomi Sarja League and in 2006 biked across Canada. I currently play Senior for the Hillmond Hitmen in the SaskAlta Hockey League.Believe life is an adventure and everyone has a unique story to tell. Here we will try and uncover some of those stories.

We discussed: - Journey from Canada to the major leagues - Salaries in the minors and how little they get - "helps separate the people that are after the money and people who want to play ball" - Steroids in the 90's, that he was asked to do them lots (he never did) and that it was evident players were using them. - Playing in Seattle with the likes of Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson & Alex Rodriguez - To make it to the big league you have to be able to deal with failure and persevere. Tania had practically no sailing or navigation experience when she started, she did not have GPS to guide her but instead had to trust the use of sextant or celestial navigation. Just to put that in perspective, for 30 months she travelled 27,000 miles and her guide was the sky above. I was fortunate enough to sit and discuss the trip with Tania. Enjoy!
