Thoughts Of A Trillionaire

UX Design is such an exciting and useful way of thinking and process because it forces you to really understand other people's perceptions and behaviors. In this audiojournal entry, I share my thoughts about why mental models can greatly impact how effectively you can solve an important problem.

Being alone is painful. Being different very often leads to you being alone. In this entry I share my story of what it's like being different and alone. I also reflect a bit on the issue of males in general finding it difficult to connect with other people on a deeper, fundamental level like our ancestors likely had an easier time doing. I have been trying to use meditation to help get rid of my cold, but I simply don't believe in this spiritual experience enough. In this audiojournal entry, I share how my fears and anxieties about believing in anything other than science makes it difficult to benefit from things like the placebo effect and 'self-healing'. I talk about how the circle of knowledge always creates more and more things that we don't know or can't explain. Self doubt is part of the journey. Even if I don't fully believe/understand, I can still utilize meditation and yoga and manifestations to help better my life.

I am once again for your emotional support, hehe smh. But seriously, I keep letting myself sink into these new stories and fictions when I should be moving towards my goals as fast and purposefully as I can. I need an accountability partner. Frfr. I get real vulnerable in this entry and share one of my major vices: reading. Please help me stay on my path and prod me to keep moving forward as fast and purposefully as we all know I can. What is confidence? It is the simple act of not being afraid to change. It is the acceptance of growth and the empathy of connection. It is the self empowerment of awakened beings able to go after the life they want and know they can have, no matter the adversities in their way. Is antifragility. In this audiojournal entry, I share my own struggles with this simple idea and talk about how many of us suffer from this same problem in different ways. I go on to discuss how we can break out of this cycle of low/no confidence in order to step into our true potential. Change is a mind state shift.

It is (1)2020 and we are still largely worried about the same problems that our ancestors were worried about 10,000 years ago. Food, shelter, water, social connections, and access to resources. We still must work to get each one... We still must spend a lot of time trying to manage these basic needs. Awakening. It is a term used in these spiritual journeys once you begin to get into meditation, manifestations, and spirituality outside of religion. It is a process of selflessness and breaking out of the constraints of learned consciousness. It is the path of always being curious about the true reality of the universe and world we live in. It is the awareness of connection that you have with every living creature and even non living beings in our shared illusion of reality. It is a journey with no end, and constant growth. Mind altering substances have walked alongside human evolution for a long time, since the beginning. It is a source of everything from spirituality to philosophical thinking. I share a little bit of my experiences from my last experiment in this audiojournal entry.

In this audio journal entry, I share some insights into how these two binary ideas are actually partners in an ever shifting dance across the universe. I share some warnings about the corrupting nature of faith and how it poisons both by disallowing questions and our natural curiosity. Hiring is usually a terrible process for both applicants and employers. The process is unnecessarily obtuse and opaque, leaving so much room for bias, weak structure, and varying standards. In this entry, I share some simple but powerful ideas for what employers can do to make their process more transparent and enjoyable. 1) Share authentic videos about their culture and work. 2) Have employees share more information about their interests, actual activities, and contact details. 3) Record every single interview in order to standardize and scale their questions.

As we venture beyond faith to find a better alternative to religion, we find this age-old idea of chakras. It is something that many cultures have explored since ancient times and it's still very relevant. However, with modern day knowledge, we are now able to understand the measurable truths in this idea as well. I hope to talk about these concepts from scientific standpoint and share my learnings as I discover them...

Part 2 of my thoughts after listening to Sam Harris talks about the insidious nature of algorithms built with ad business modes, the danger of religion and faith based thinking, and a better way to think about race, antiracism, and globalization.

Listening to Making Sense with Sam Harris for the first time has refined and inspired some great ideas in me. In this entry, I share some of my thoughts from listening to his podcasts. I talk about the concept of "strong ideas weakly held", how meritocracy is a myth (or worse), and the magnitude of systemic racism and how affirmative action is just the first step to rebalancing the scales.

Video games jumped into 3D immersion as soon as the technology allowed it, but web interfaces have stayed relatively the same since the 90s. In this entry, I share my thoughts on why the internet is not as immersive or interactive as games, and how Notion or similar tools can solve the bigger problem of human creativity.

The Circle (2017) movie explored ideas about surveillance and 'full transparency' where knowledge is a human right, privacy is theft, and secrets are lies. In this entry, I discuss the deeper meaning of these ideas and think about how real life is a more nuanced conversation.
