I feel like I (mostly) disagree with her. But then again, Star Wars has become one of the biggest, and also most polarizing franchises in history. Even Derek and I don't see eye-to-eye on all things Star Wars. Music has changed a lot over the past few decades. How we make it, how we listen to it, how it's distributed, how it's promoted...they have all changed drastically. (Some for the better, some for the worse.) But we now live in an era where artists can have repeated chart topping hits and still be completely 'unknown' by the general public. And other artists that have almost no traditional exposure, but become household names and sell out arenas. With the release of the teaser trailer for phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we were all able to get excited about the next few years of Marvel movies in the works, and the very last graphic in that teaser gives us the Fantastic Four logo. We discuss what the future may hold for the franchise, despite a few previous lackluster efforts at the box office. People have always made music. They've also been making music about all kinds of 'taboo' or 'inappropriate' subject matter. Some are just better at cleverly hiding it, or working it in with wordplay and innuendo. From folks burning records in the 60s, to music censorship, radio edits, and the explicit content label. There has been a battle over 'decency' in music for years. I find it hilarious that some of the people that make the biggest stink about it (Music kids listen to to these days is just plain disgusting!) often have a library of songs they love that probably have some darker meanings they don't even know about. With the opening on Super Nintendo World in Japan, we got to thinking about theme parks. Will things like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World lead to even more fandoms getting their own theme parks?
