The Seattle Mariners will open their season versus the Boston Red Sox at T-Mobile Park, so how do the Mariners start the season, could a sweep of the Red Sox be in play to get their 2024 season off to a good start. The Mariners season is starting soon, and the biggest question is if this team has truly improved from last year, the team never grabbed a big splash free agent and there’s a few questions regarding the roster as it looks right now. The Mayor, Ian Furness joins in and shares what he has planned for is show this afternoon.

The trip didn’t start off great, as Puck and Owen missed their flight to San Diego. Once they did arrive in San Diego Puck shares how the baseball trip went, Puck gives some insight on how he had to step up and keep stats, and how challenging that is. Softy did his annual Presidents day show, and caught up w/ Mariners president Jerry Dipoto, Puck and Jim react to Dipto’s answer regarding where this franchise is and how things have been over the last several years. Per Adam Schefter reports that the “Seahawks QB Geno Smith, who has $12.7 million in his contract that becomes fully guaranteed on Friday, was informed today that he will remain on the roster through this week, allowing that money to trigger, sources tell ESPN. The $12.7 million now converts from injury guaranteed to fully guaranteed, assuring that Smith will collect the money.” We also go live w/ the Seahawks press conference as they introduce offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb, defensive coordinator Aden Durde and special team’s coordinator Jay Harbaugh speak to the media. We catch up w/Troy Wins to announce who is going on the trip to Las Vegas for a little March Madness!

The 49ers have fired their defensive coordinator Steve Wilks and there’s a story by Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, that details hiring Wilks might’ve been a mistake. But how crazy would it be if Pete Carroll was offered the opportunity to be the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, would he take the job? Puck isn’t the only one who thinks the Niners should go after Pete, as Matt Barrows who covers the Niners for the Athletic writes that Pete should be among the 11 options to replace Steve Wilks.

How about those WSU Cougs, but remember the discussion regarding Kyle Smith’s future as the head coach at WSU, that’s up in the air because Ohio State is parting ways w/ basketball head coach Chris Holtmann… The Cougs are 18-6, second in the PAC-12, assuming they continue to play well, coach Smith will be a candidate for the open spot at Ohio State. The Seahawks are reportedly interviewing Oakland Raiders assistant Fred Walker for QB’s coach. The Niners loss the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs, and players take to social media and blame one another, are the Niners falling apart right in front of our eyes.

It’s almost time as baseball season nears. The Mariners pitchers and catchers are set to report on Thursday February 15, and position players will report on Tuesday February 20. Puck and Jim go through a few areas on the roster and have the discussion if this team is better, but they still have to recoup in what they had in Eugenio Suarez, so at 3rd base there’s certainly a question mark.
