PEG Interview NY Born Musical Sensation Mia Koo BIO The New York-born musical sensation Mia Koo began her journey into the arts with the classical violin in 1996. From the age of six, she studied in chamber orchestras and programs for developing musicians around NYC reaching a level 6 certification in the NYSSMA Solo & Ensemble violin contests. Her national career took off early as she embarked on House of Blues tours from coast-to-coast with her first successful act, The Kung Fu Girls. The band collaborated with Tom Higgenson (Plain White T’s) to produce their debut album, “Thinking of You.” This was all before she ever finished high school. PEG INTERVIEWS ALT POP DUO: THE VIBRANT SHADOWS The Vibrant Shadows Bio: The Vibrant Shadows are an alternative pop duo from Shawnee, OK.  They have grown up around music throughout their entire lives and previously were in another band called Shoulda Been Blonde beginning around 2014 and through January of 2020.  They have played many gigs over the years since they began performing together in 2014 at the ages of 14 and 15. The first gig they played together was in 2014 at a festival in Shawnee. They began playing together for fun and over time Peyton began writing her own songs. Soon after they began the band, they released their first EP. While with the band Peyton wrote songs for two EPs and one full length album. Lauren and Peyton left the band in 2020 due to creative differences but started The Vibrant Shadows in October of 2020. PEG INTERVIEWS Vox Pop Winner NADIA VAEH Atlanta native and IMA “Vox Pop” winner, Nadia Vaeh found her way into artistry through modeling and joining a local Atlanta circus. She started singing in circus productions, but this was not the beginning of her artistic roots. Nadia’s love of music and singing began at the age of two and was later nurtured by her parents by placing her into a traveling youth choir. Her mother was a poet who passed on her love of words, which later fueled Nadia’s talent as a lyricist. Nadia’s life took an unexpected turn at the age of 17 when she lost her mother to suicide. She dismantled her high-school band and strayed from songwriting and singing for years, other than the occasional karaoke. After this tragic loss, she states that she went down a path of self-sabotage and destruction and used relationships and partying to ignore her pain.
