Off Script With Trish Glose

Trish Glose asks the super tough (not really) questions to Mail Tribune editor Cathy Noah. This homegrown journalist shares her love for asking the tough questions, some of the memorable stories she's covered and her opinions on where the world of journalism is headed. She also takes a break from her job and talks about her loves during her time off.

Trish Glose takes a walk down memory lane with local resident, Chuck Mettler. Mettler is the face for a local retirement facility, often featured on their commercials. No stranger to commercials, he talks about his career owning an appliance store and the silly commercials he was in for that. He also talks about growing up in Pennsylvania, the way he met his wife, and her battle with Alzheimer's. It's a life filled with laughter, sweet memories and a lot of love.

We revisit Episode 16 with Joelle Graves, Executive Director of the Rogue Valley Symphony. She tells the heartbreaking story of growing up with an alcoholic mother, how she connected with her father, how singing helped her heal and her letter to President Obama that got some serious play.

While he says he didn't realize he was experiencing post traumatic stress at the time, he understands it in a different way now. His story is one of bravery, resiliency, courage, and keeping up the fight.

She says she wants to be a winemaker when she grows up, but the two talked about existentialism, her tattoos, drinking choices in college and how she just puts it out there. Trish Glose gets chatty with Cathy Beaton, owner and operator of Beaton Farm, a new vineyard and winery in Southern Oregon. The two discuss being from the south and Cathy talks about helping with integration at her Alabama high school, working with the Department of Defense and how she found her way first to Klamath Falls. There's also a funny story about where she met her current husband.

Trish Glose gets the skinny on the very interesting life of Stacy Van Voorhees. She's currently the Outreach & Administration Manager at the Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market, but her world before moving to the Rogue Valley included traveling around the world, living in New York and meeting quite a few celebrities.
