Baptism is a great time of celebration and rejoicing in the life of the individual, but also in the life of the congregation, as it causes us to remember the reality of our own baptism as well. This morning we look at a passage that shows us how baptism is a beautiful picture of the progression that every follower of Jesus makes, from captive to the law, to freedom found in the work of Jesus Christ. In this passage, Mark shows us the compassion that Jesus has for those who are suffering—regardless of social status—while again putting his power on display for all to see. Ultimately, we see this same compassion as Jesus steps down into our mess and saves us. Let’s look at 3 key elements of Jesus’ compassion.

In contrast to the message of contemporary culture to promote, pamper, and protect ourselves, Jesus' call has always been to deny ourselves and abandon anything and everything that would hinder us from a non-negotiated commitment to following Him.

Jesus wants us to listen well to the Word. It is in the listening to His Word and responding that the kingdom Seed grows in individual hearts, communities, and nations. This morning we look at four kingdom parables. Hear it up!

Who do you say that Jesus is? How do you relate to him? In this passage we will look at six different responses to Jesus and his ministry. Will you call him liar, lunatic or Lord?

Jesus’ encounters with his enemies teach us that the Gospel, and Jesus him-self are offensive to our own self-driven efforts to please God. He offers something so much better: Forgiveness, Joy, & Rest.

We have so many needs, but what is our deepest? As Jesus continues to incrementally reveal himself to the people in an electrically charged encounter of sickness, sin, faith and evil, we see that the Son of Man is the only one who can ultimately meet our needs - Including the deepest one of all.

We see Jesus continue His ministry with a clear and unmistakable voice of AUTHORITY. In this message, we will notice 4 things about the authority of Jesus that will lead us to ask some questions. But first we will contemplate, which voice do YOU hear?

As the ministry of John the Baptist recedes with his arrest, Jesus’ ministry comes to the foreground with His message of the kingdom. This Sunday we will look at two aspects of that message: The good news call of the kingdom, and the call to follow the King.

Mark doesn’t waste any time in introducing us to Jesus the central character, His commissioning, and His mission. This Sunday we join Mark on the road as fellow travelers as we hit the ground running directly into the action of God breaking into time and space.

What could make a man like Peter, who denied Jesus, stand up and proclaim the great Gospel story a few weeks later? The Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the joy of the Gospel story. And this morning we will explore the story through Peter’s Pentecost sermon and three crucial events.

Jesus is the Treasure of life and knowing Him and making Him known is the purpose of life.

What does it mean to have to have the gospel be the center around which we build our lives and our churches? What does it mean to believe, live out and cherish the gospel? This Sunday we wrap our Why series with WHY Gospel Centered by looking to three implications of the truth of the gospel.

This Sunday we look at the Why behind Communion, or as it has been called The Lord’s Supper by looking to three avenues for clarity: The History, The Meaning, & The Blessing. Our hope is to gain a greater appreciation for what Christ has given us for our good, unity, and nourishment.

Why do we practice church membership? Where is it mentioned in the Bible? This Sunday we gather to grow in our understanding of what the church is, what it means to identity with a local body of believers, and how blessing comes through mutual submission to each other.

Do we truly believe that God is weaving together all of the mundane circumstances of our lives for His great story and our joy? This morning we look through the dark clouds of providence to see THREE RAYS of providential light that tell us, yes God is for us!
