Okay, so who's shootin' skeet in the hills above south Boise? And when are they doing it? And why? Also: if you had to make a bet — who would hit a target first, LD or Joel?

What’s the word, bird? And why are we suddenly hearing so much about this place serving up tacos, burritos, and buckets of drumsticks and thighs? Spoiler alert: it’s the chicken. Also: extra-special-guest-who-actually-knows-something-about-food!

Shipping bees across state lines in semi trucks is a thing. It's actually a very big thing, maybe the biggest in the business of bees. Then of course there's the honey making (and tasting), hive checking, and wax collecting. Bottom line? Bees are pretty darn interesting.

First thing's first — this is easily 'top five' for best podcast episode name. Now that we've got that out of the way, join us for a trip to the mountain town of Crouch, where we learn what attracts big-city folk to the local watering hole & we attempt the scariest task to date: interuppting a quilting class.

The ocean is over 500 miles away from Boise, Idaho ( yes, we Googled that ), which is why we had to stop into this local scuba shop to figure out who the heck is doing all the diving around here. And if you take away just one thing from this episode, let it be this: it's fins, not flippers.

Way out in the middle of the desert (okay, not way out, but Kuna) are the Boise Wild Horse Corrals. Maybe you've driven by or seen signs, but what actually goes on there? Who's trying to adopt wild horses? And can LD really keep a baby horse in her backyard?

If you're a fan of garage sales, then you could definitely get down with the action at Main Auction. So come along on a Saturday morning adventure as Joel and LD pick their way through pool ladders & instapots to place their very first bid, all the while debating the following: Are we or are we not in a post-eBay era?

Welcome to Season 4, friends! You're probably looking at this episode title, scratching your head and thinking, " A cafe that serves ... huh?" No, it's not a literal cafe (no clinking coffee cups). It's a group of people who meet in intimate settings to have the kinds of conversations we should probably all be having more often.

What do you do when you're out in the field for a podcast episode and a kitten comes mewing up to you in the middle of the road? Drop everything and take care of said kitten, right? Right?!

For the last hoorah of Season 3, we invite some friends to join us on a trip to Melba to explore a place that specializes in the #perfectlyquirky. Content warning: this episodes contains mentions of peacocks, mannequins, Albert Einstein and sounds of a real life pump organ.

How is it that we're nearly done with Season Three and we have yet to visit a place on State Street in Boise? We're seriously embarrassed. So, to make up for lost time, we visited a whole strip.

By now, everyone probably understands the concept of acupuncture. But what about an acupuncture co-op? What goes on there? How big are the needles really and what does it mean to "sleep with strangers?" We find out.

Last season we explored a handful of vape shops within a few miles of each other. This season, we upped the ante: tattoo shops within less than a mile of each other. How do they differentiate themselves? How do they compete? And let's just say this field trip permanently changed us (well, one of us), if you know what we mean.

We really thought we knew what we were getting ourselves into on this one, but boy were we wrong—in a good way! Sure, you can buy condoms here, but what you'll really get is a lesson in intimate wellness. And we could all use more of that.

We find our way into a shop that is frequented by bikers and rodeo queens, and specializes in leather work and hat shaping. Vocab terms to know this episode: roughy, bridal, britches, and cooler races down the hill. Oh, and LD leaves with a new pair of shoes.

What do an airport restaurant and a two-story mobile coffee shop have in common? Not much, if you don't count the quality food and original atmosphere. But we do count that kind of stuff around here, so trust us when we say these places are worth a visit.

Filled to the brim with dragons, goddesses, cauldrons, and incense, Crone's Cupboard is a place for explorers and believers alike. And spoiler alert: a crone is not a small elf that lives in a cupboard.

If built-in bulk sections get you excited or clamshell plastics give you headaches, we think you're going to like this new kind of grocery store in town.

If you’re a long-time listener of the You Know The Place podcast, you may remember our season one episode at India Fashion & Grocery. It remains one of our favorite explorations and, even after two seasons, our most-downloaded episode. A few days ago, an accidental electrical fire swept through the store and now the business is (in the words of the fire department) a total loss.
