On the first day of the new year, we arrive in this truth: The Word became flesh and dwells in us, full of grace and truth.  Let it be.

This is the Good News of Christmas – the heartbeat of God pulsing in the fullness of humanity.  As we live into the life of Christ, we become the heartbeat of God in and for the world God loves.

In the hope of a starlit sky, in our embodied lives, in the coming of Christ – God is already here, and always on the way.

The second in our Advent series "Hope of a Starlit Night" -- God keeps vigil at night, inviting us into the vigil and into the work of freedom.

In the quiet of a starlit night, we watch, and wait, and hope – for Christ, already with us, and always on the way.

In good times and not so good, God accompanies us in love and grace, and we thrive in gratitude.

God invites us into a discernment lifestyle, an ongoing conversation with God in prayer.

On All Saints Day, we celebrate God’s love alive in the saints who have gone before, those living now, and those who are yet to come.

In prayer, Jesus invites us to draw near to God, confessing our need for God, living into Christ’s tender mercy.

God hears the pleas of the hungry and invites us to listen and act – to pray and never give up. The world is full of the pleas and cries of the hundreds of millions who hunger. World Food Day asks us to listen and to act.

If you want to experience the glory of God, look to what Deacons do.

Jesus seeks us out and brings us to the table, saying, “I am among you as one who serves.”

God joins us in the circle of lament -- as we listen to the lament of the world, share our own, and move forward together into a world of healing.

In Christ, our work is to work for the freedom of all, so that individually and together we can become all we are created to be and do in the world.

Jesus invites all of us to a table of mutuality and justice, where the privileged give up our place at the table as we celebrate those who are finding theirs.

In Sabbath, Jesus embodies the rule of freedom – God’s liberating power at work healing the world.

God grieves the destruction we wreak on this Earth, but even in collapse, draws us into deeper connection and creative work.

On the night before he dies, Jesus embodies and suggests an answer to the question, “What does a good day look like for you?” – inviting us to live into what really matters.
