Episódios

  • Jack Collison

    12/08/2020 Duração: 38min

Dai and Ruth return with an interview with former Wales international, and now Atlanta United youth coach. This was recorded during lockdown, so a massive thank you to Jack for his time, honesty, and funny stories! We discuss his career, how he got into football and of course his struggle with injury over the years. He opens up about the impact it had on him personally, and professionally. From a Wales perspective we talk through his time in the red shirt, the different managers he's worked under, some funny stories about John Toshack and how he felt as a Wales fan during Euro 2016. We had to cut things a little short as Jack was trying to look after his baby whilst chatting to us, so hope to get him back on to talk about his career as a coach, both in the UK and in Atlanta. Have a listen, and share the pod.

  • CHAD Project Restart

    12/07/2020 Duração: 01h07min

Coleman Had A Dream is back! We talked through everything which has happened after football restarted again. Will Cardiff or Swansea go up? How glad are Wrexham and Newport fans that the season finished early? What have Merthyr Town been up to whilst football has been away? Look no further, as we answer all these questions for you! We also look through the Wales players who have been in action since the restart and look at how well they are doing. We answer some of your questions and discuss how the Cymru league seasons ended. There is nothing we don't cover. Probably.

  • Dave Edwards

    01/06/2020 Duração: 01h28min

Dai and Ruth were fortunate enough to get Dave Edwards to join them for a lockdown chat! The trio talked through Dave's career both for club and country. Dave talks us through life under John Toshack, Gary Speed and the Euros under Chris Coleman. He talks about his goals, his little known injury problem before the Northern Ireland game in Paris and experiencing some games as a fan from the touchline. Finally he talks about life away from football - The Offside Trust and The Little Rascals Foundation. He is a great guy to talk to, and a fascinating guy to listen to. Reminding ourselves of a great summer and some great times was a real joy. We hope you enjoy it too. Thanks again to Dave for his time.

  • Wide Midfielders Combination

    29/05/2020 Duração: 32min

After a few weeks break (mainly as I forgot to post this recording....) Dai and Ruth are back, and are talking through their favourite wide or attacking midfielders. This is purely indulgent at this point, shown most clearly with the inclusion of trumpet playing Peruvian Nolberto Solano. Either way, this is a lot of fun and contains a lot of chat about some of the best midfielders to have ever played the game.

  • Centre Midfield Combination

    07/05/2020 Duração: 42min

Ruth and Dai continue their favourite football things podcast series, through their latest chat, to build the best possible central midfielder. We started looking for best "midfielder" and that gave life to "wide midfielder", and that is coming soon too. We may even do best number 10 as well. Depending on how long the lockdown boredom continues. For now, listen to us talk about Zidane, Zico, Maradona and Messi. It all gets a bit...well...messy.

  • Favourite Football Things: Defenders

    01/05/2020 Duração: 25min

Dai and Ruth continue their favourite football things podcast series, this time making their ultimate defender. Piecing together the combination of: best right foot, left foot, header of a ball, footballing nous/brain, energy and pace. It produces some surprises, some names you may not know, and a few laughs as well as some good anecdotes.

  • Bosnia (a) Andorra (h)

    29/04/2020 Duração: 52min

A conversation about the best defeat in Welsh football history. It's that simple.

  • Favourite Football Things: Non Footballing Events

    24/04/2020 Duração: 24min

Dai and Ruth return to discuss their favourite and memorable footballing things. Except this week, it is in fact non footballing events which get discussed. Events the pair have attended over the years are talked about including trying not to get caught on tv during the Ryder Cup, watching the Olympics with TV's Matt Baker, and haggling over the price of tickets! It's a great listen.

  • Cyprus (a) and Israel (h)

    22/04/2020 Duração: 44min

Dai and Ruth return with another pod discussing the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, alongside the FAW re-runs of the matches. This time, it's time to travel to Cyprus to witness Gareth Bale do very little for 90 minutes apart score a stunning header, and then head to the CCS to watch Simon Church think he's taken us to the Euros. But he didn't. Whilst the matches weren't classics, it does open up a lot of interesting talking points. Enjoy the pod and the quiz question at the end.

  • Favourite Football Things: Transfers

    17/04/2020 Duração: 11min

The Favourite Football Things mini series is back, and this time we talk about famous and memorable transfers. Shearer, Kante, Keegan and many more. Ruth tells the story of Alfredo Di Stefano and how he came to Real Madrid.....via Barcelona. Sort of. It's a great transfer and Ruth tells the story very well! Enjoy!

  • Israel (A) and Belgium (H) re-run review

    14/04/2020 Duração: 55min

Welcome back to another Coleman Had A Dream podcast! Following the FAW re-running all the qualifiers in the build up to Euro 2016, we are watching and discussing the games. Up today, are two of the most important games, certainly in the modern history, of Welsh football. After a great start to the group where Wales had won two and drawn two, we came up against an Israel team who had won their opening three qualifying games. They had beaten Andorra, Cyprus and most impressively, top seeds Bosnia and Herzegovina. Wales were to go clear top of the group after this game following a stunning 3-0 win. An apparently out of form (if you were to read the pre match media chatter) Gareth Bale scored a brace, whilst Aaron Ramsey scored a gorgeous header on the stroke of half time. With three points in our pockets Wales headed home, and later in the year (June) came up against a very talented and exciting Belgium side. The Welsh had previously had an hard fought 0-0 draw out in Belgium, but this time went one better w

  • Favourite Football Things: Managers

    13/04/2020 Duração: 12min

Dai and Ruth are back with their Favourite Football Things. This time, managers are the focus of our discussion. It'll come as no surprise that Chris Coleman gets a mention, given the name of our podcast. There are also mentions for: Bobby Robson, Mike England, Renus Michels among a selection of greats. We hope you enjoy another one of our favourite football things.

  • Favourite Football Things: Euro 2016

    09/04/2020 Duração: 16min

On today's favourite football things, Dai and Ruth talk about everyone's favourite thing. Unless you're English I suppose. And that is Euro 2016. We talk through our favourite moments in the tournament both from an individual perspective and from a footballing perspective. All in all, a great trip down memory lane.

  • Favourite Football Things: Refs decisions, flags and anthems

    08/04/2020 Duração: 15min

Dai and Ruth return in their Fvaourite Football Things mini-series. This episode continues the trend of us talking about anything we're asked, and as such involved Ruth being nostalgic (again!) and Dai talking about being a dick....again. Following on from refereeing decisions, the pair discuss their favourite flags (national and funny!) as well as their favourite footballing (and national) anthems. A wide ranging, but fun episode.

  • Cyprus and Belgium Review

    06/04/2020 Duração: 45min

Dai and Ruth are back to talk over the re-runs of the Cyprus win, and the iconic 0-0 draw with Belgium. The formations, the tactics, the subs and how bad our memories trick our minds on how the games panned out! We had some sound quality issues during this recording, so apologies for that.

  • Favourite Football Things: Fouls and Craig Bellamy Interviews

    03/04/2020 Duração: 13min

In a slightly bizarre addition to the podcast series, we have got together to discuss, following a very specific request....Our favourite fouls (if there is such a thing!) and our favourite Craig Bellamy post match interview, of which there are several contenders believe it or not! Have a listen and let us know if you have any additions to our answers!

  • Favourite Football Things: Haircuts and Shithouses

    01/04/2020 Duração: 13min

We did say we would answer any questions about anything that people asked, and that's exactly what we've done! As a consequence we are talking our favourite football shithouses, and great footballing haircuts. This is perhaps not our best work, but a bit of a laugh. Plus Robbie Savage appears in both categories. Which is nice.

  • Favourite Football Things: Goals

    31/03/2020 Duração: 12min

Dai and Ruth are back to discuss their favourite football things. In this episode, goals are the topic of conversation. From Hughes to Hal. Ben Arfa to Gareth Bale. Charisteas to Shearer. There's a lot to talk about!

  • Andorra and Bosnia. Where do we go from here?

    30/03/2020 Duração: 36min

After the FAW broadcast the Euro 2016 Qualifiers against Andorra and Bosnia, Dai and Ruth got back together to see if their memories of the games at the time coincided with what actually happened! A nice trip down memory lane, at what turned out to be two crucial fixtures. Following that, a slight outburst of reality as the current climate both inside and outside of the footballing bubble is aired. Should the football season continue, or should it be sacked off? Why clubs should support each other and what the football world can do to support those lower down the pyramid. It's a more serious end to a light hearted chat. Favourite Football Things will be back tomorrow...

  • Favourite Football Things: Kits and Logos

    26/03/2020 Duração: 13min

Dai and Ruth continue their favourite football things series, with a chat about kits and team logos. From Adidas Welsh classics, to Jaeger sponsored German teams we can't pronounce the name of, there are a broad selection to talk about. Logos pulls some more random teams together, from Boca to Basel, and Fiorentina to Mainz.
