The Lightning wrap up their 6-game road trip with a 4-3 shootout win in Boston in a game which they controlled play 5-on-5 but gave up 3 power play goals. The Bolts took 5 penalties for the second game in a row which is bothersome for this team that has so much talent but they do get 8 points out of 12 on the trip. Rick Stroud and Eduardo Encina were in London to see Jameis Winston throw 5 interceptions to go with 1 fumble lost in what is probably the Bucs worst game of the season. On the good side Winston did throw some balls to his tight ends OJ Howard and Cameron Brate. The 37-26 loss to the Panthers also exposed the defense as the secondary had trouble all day long as jobs may be on the line. Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow was tipping his pitches as the Astros get 4 runs in the first inning and cruise behind Gerrit Cole who went 8 innings, giving up 2 hits including a home run to Eric Sogard, as Houston wins 6-1 to advance to the ALCS. The Rays season is over after getting 96 wins in the regular season and 3 more in the postseason but they should have much of this team back from next season and the younger players getting playoff experience. The Rays once again face a win-or-go-home game, their 4th in 8 days, as they've forced Game 5 back in Houston in the ALDS. Tyler Glasnow goes against Gerrit Cole who beat the Rays in Game 2 as Tampa Bay should enjoy this game tonight as they don't come around often. The Rays force Game 5 of the American League Division Series as they beat Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros 4-1 before another raucous crowd at Tropicana Field. Tommy Pham hit a home run in the 1st, part of a 3-run inning and the Rays would never trail. The defense shined as well as Ji-Man Choi made several good plays at 1st base, and the Rays nailed Jose Altuve at the plate on a perfect relay from Kevin Kiermaier to Willy Adames to Travis d'Arnaud in the 4th to keep the Astros off the board. Kevin Kiermaier's 3-run home run in the 2nd blew the roof off the Trop in front of over 32,000 Rays fans and Charlie Morton allows only 1 run as Tampa Bay beats the Zack Greinke and the Astros 10-3. The Rays would hit 4 home runs in all including ones by Brandon Lowe, Ji-Man Choi and Willy Adames to start the party in Tropicana Field. Tuesday will be Diego Castillo vs. Justin Verlander and the Rays will try to even the series. Plus the Bucs got bad news as Alex Cappa broke his arm in Sunday's game and will miss 4-6 weeks and Demar Dotson is out this weekend too so the right side of the offensive line will be different as they travel to London to face the Panthers. The Buccaneers lose 31-24 to the Saints in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicated and failed to move into a tie for first place in the NFC South. Jameis Winston threw for only 207 yards while being sacked 6 times and wide receiver Mike Evan finished with no catches which Head Coach Bruce Arians said they didn’t do a good job to get him involved.
