As the US public educational system implodes from corruption and planned deliberate dysfunction, African Americans are taking the initiative to create and develop plans to take control of urban educational systems by either forcing states and cities to restructure their educational funding, rethink and redesign their pedagogy or forming their own educational institutions. Junious Ricardo Stanton interviews two tireless advocates for educatoin each with his own unique approach to educating African-Americans: Jasper Jones and Dr. Umar A Johnson. Both men are from the Philadelphia area and share their approaches to addressing the educational needs and issues confronting African-Americans.

Junious Ricardo Stanton speaks with lawyer, activist, educational reformer, champion for social and economic justice, Dr. Walter Palmer. Dr Plamer shares what is going on and why the Philadelphia School Reform Commissions is attempting to shut down his charter schools. Plamer is a long time activist who lead demonstrations against the lack of African and African American history curricula in the Philadelphia schools in the 1960's. He created and ran Freedom Schools and alternative schools when the Philadelphia schools were closed due to a prolonged teacher's strike in the 1970's. He worked to halt gang violence and to develop community empowerment, he created street theater to teach African-American history and current events.
