Van Gogh and Gauguin reflect on their turbulent but triumphant nine weeks at the Yellow House in Arles the previous year, which culminated in Van Gogh's near death and Gauguin's fleeing Arles. Now in separate cities, they reflect on their time together, their art, their artistic styles and influences, and their relationships.Shan R. Ayers, playing Vincent Van Gogh, is a professor of theatre at Berea College in Kentucky. Previous acting experience includes perfromances as Willy Loman in "Death of a Salesman", Lenny Small in "Of Mice and Men", and Henry Higgins in "Pygmalion." Two of his short monologues, "Privy" and "Cornelia Street" were featured on a previous "In the Crib."Tony Crachiolo, playing Paul Gauguin, has originated many roles in new plays, including Trish Ayers' one-man play, "Ironing Lessons."
