Throwdown Thursday

This week Patsy and Ashes are joined by Sarah B and Coop from The Fan-tastic Podcast, Epic Tales, and Amalga-Mania to discuss the smash-hit musical Hamilton! From their favorite musicals to their favorite parts of this particular musical to the historical inaccuracies that were overlooked for the benefit of the narrative, this episode has it all! Ashes and Sarah drop some serious knowledge, while Patsy and Coop chime in with the occasional nugget, including Ashes' interpretation of the final scene, which will blow your mind! This week, the fi's twi th' size as Patsy and Ashes discuss Mickey O'Neil from Guy Ritchie's 2000 film Snatch. They discuss their favorite Brad Pitt characters, how Mickey fits into the world created by Ritchie for the film, his interactions with other characters, and his impact on the story. They of course also discuss how he came to have his unique accent, and Ashes tries to replicate it several times. There's also a new Brad Pitt-themed battle, a preview of next week's show and a HUGE announcement about a live broadcast that they'll be doing in cooperation with The Dorkening!

This week Patsy and Ashes are covering characters from one of the most acclaimed television series in recent memory, The Mandalorian. Focusing mainly on the titular character...and of course his little green friend, they will take you on a journey through a galaxy far, far away as they talk about the Mandalorian's honor code, iron will, and the friends he makes along the way that help him as much as he helps them in what Patsy refers to as a "spaceghetti Western". They delve deep into Star Wars lore, both canonical and non-canonical to really do the characters justice in how special and well-developed they are. This week Patsy and Ashes discuss one of Winona Ryder's most iconic yet underrated roles, Veronica Sawyer from the 1989 film Heathers! They discuss how her home and school lives contributed to her eventual role in the clique, her relationship with JD (Christian Slater), and how she got along with the other students in her high school, especially the titular Heathers. But that's not all! They also throw down a new battle, play a voicemail from a long-time friend and listener and talk about things they plan to do and learn during the now-extended stay-at-home orders. It's Patsy's birthday! He thought they were going to be covering Bender from Futurama, but instead, Patsy is shocked to found out that a whole bunch of the extended Throwdown Thursday Family sent in messages for his birthday! Patsy is genuinely floored by the fact that so many people have so many nice things to say to and about him and the outpouring of affection truly humbles him. But that's not all!
