This week Patsy and Ashes are tackling the titular character from 2005's Constantine, played by Keanu Reeves! They are really only focusing on this particular incarnation, and what he gets up to, and the exploits from this film. They give you a history of who he is, what he's doing, where the character comes from, and their thoughts on how he traverses through the world he is a part of, through no small contribution of his own. They also discuss how this was a first-time watch for Ashes, and how neither of them was very familiar with the character prior to this film (and really don't know a whole lot about him even now - he remains mysterious). This week Patsy and Ashes are back to discuss 2002's Reign of Fire, focusing on the characters of Creedy (Gerard Butler), Quinn (Christian Bale), and Van Zan (Matthew McConnaghey)! They discuss the way the characters each take a different outlook on the dragon-filled post-apocalyptic hellscape in the far-off year of 2020! It's a lot like the real 2020, but with a different global catastrophe, although an equal amount of stubborn people who take the wrong approach to battling the cataclysm and end up screwing over the rest of the people in the process. In a very emotional episode, Patsy and Ashes talk about one of their dearest friends and longtime supporters, Riku, who passed away last week at the age of 31. Riku was one of the first people to support the podcast, and had become a very close friend not only to Patsy and Ashes, but to many across the podcasting community. Riku was more than a listener, more than a friend, he was part of the family and will be deeply missed by many people. Patsy and Ashes barely hold themselves together as they explain this week's show, which is a replay of episode 40, the only show on which Riku was a guest. This was done because he deserves to be remembered as the fun-loving, supportive, amazing human that he was, and this is the best way we thought of to honor him. Rest in Peace, Riku.
