Matthew first started dancing in 2009 and in 2014, received his BFA in Dance Performance/Choreography from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, After graduating in 2014, he relocated to Washington D.C. to perform and choreograph for various dance companies and train under the instruction of various renowned dance artists throughout North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He is also artistic director of MARO Movement and has choreographed his own works for various festivals and events along the East coast. Exploring human nature, personal experiences, and current and past events through athleticism and artistry largely inspire his works.
