Sinopse
In this American podcast about an American musical about a bastard orphan, I (your host Gillian Pensavalle) talk to my co-hosts and guests about all things Hamilton including how it brings people together, how we find Ham references in everyday life, and the general brilliance of the show: from cast, crew, and creatives involved in the production, to the minds behind some of the best social media accounts inspired by Hamilton, to teachers who use the music to get their students excited about history, and everything in between. The discussion of Ron Chernow's "Alexander Hamilton" starts in episode three. If you're interested, please feel free to read along with us; we'll be going chapter-by-chapter and provide detailed and reference-heavy outlines for each #Cherpter. But there's no pressure! There's plenty to talk about and this is not a super serious history class. When I started this podcast in January of 2016, I could not have imagined the incredible community that has built around the show and the amazing experiences that have come my way. Thank you to everyone who has listened, appeared on the show, contributed, or reached out in any way. This podcast for you and I absolutely love making it.If you have any great Ham stories or funny references you've come across, let me know! I love hearing about things like that. Email TheHamilcast [at] gmail [dot] com, or contact me on social media @TheHamilcast.I have the honor to be your obedient servant,G.Pen

#152 // Kurt Crowley, Hamilton Broadway's Music Director // Part Three
21/01/2019 Duração: 58minThe theme of Kurt Crowley's third episode (and all of his episodes, really) is "beautifully nerdy." We talk Kurt's impeccable mashups, conducting big moments in the show (the big WAITs in "Wait For It" and that final moment with Eliza), and Kurt gives advice for anyone who wants to be a Broadway musician.
-
#151 // Kurt Crowley, Hamilton Broadway's Music Director // Part Two
14/01/2019 Duração: 01h07minKurt Crowley is back for round two and this week we're talking about how Hamilton has its very own Department of the Treasury (aka the music department) and how they are - still! - constantly making sure the music is on the up and up. Kurt also gives insight into the rehearsal process now that HamFans are being cast in the show and they have to unlearn the album, which is a lot harder than you may think. AND! Kurt goes in on the "Toronto/Company Screams in Chaos" part of "The Room Where it Happens" to make sure we know *exactly* when to chime in with our approved location.
