We hope you enjoy this special treat from Larry, Dr. Chris and Colonel Jeff. We're bringing you a New Year's episode of The Fred Allen Show which originally aired on 12/14/47. Fred Allen was known for his quick ad libs and cornball recurring characters. Although the show may sound tame by today's standards, his wordplay and double entendre pushed to the edges of acceptable content in its day and he was often censored by the network. Listen for the punchline of the "rainmaker" joke in this episode. Allen and Jack Benny had a completely made up show biz feud that went on for decades. Enjoy and we'll see you next week!

Larry looks back on his recent birthday and fondly cherishes the simple moments. Especially since nobody gave him a hat. Then Larry recites "The Pig" by Roald Dahl for The Poetry Corner and Larry goes ape over the original 1933 King Kong for The Magic Movie Moment. Mogambo! Larry talks about the movie Mogambo and how you really can't beat Eva Gardner and Grace Kelly in the same movie. And we hear a good joke about Mr. Murphy in a bar and then Larry recites "Domestic Silence" by Scroobius Pip on The Poetry Corner.
