The prophet Isaiah points out that if people can study war, we can also study peace. We can learn from God, the supreme practitioner and teacher of peace. These lessons are urgently needed in our divided nation and world.

Sermon for Christ the King/Reign of Christ Sunday. It may seem odd to reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus as Advent and Christmas approach. However, the sign placed above his head does read "This is the king...".

Jesus saw Zacchaeus through gracious, loving, merciful eyes. Without exception, that is how Jesus sees everyone. The loving light in Jesus' eyes is at the heart of the gospel story, and it is at the heart of our life's story.
