I'm Shianne Moales I was born and raised in Bridgeport, CT but now residing in Concord, NC. For most of my 25 years of my life so far I have been writing. My poetry got me thru a lot of my ups and downs. I got serious in the 12th grade when we had a senior project and I realized that this was something I really loved. However I went on a poetry hiatus and wrote short stories and took care of my girls. However for the last 2 years I have been writing and catching up on what I love to do. My goal with my writing and poetry is to help at least one person get through what it is their going thru. I want people to know that I understand and that I know how it feels. As long as I help at least one persons pain, I feel like my pen will not be in vain. I have been blessed with meeting some very influetial people this year. A.N.U (All Nisha's Understanding) is a 29 year old mother of three, native of Cincinnati, Ohio. She began writing poetry and short stories in elementary, only sharing her gift with her teachers, soon it became an outlet and her personal therapy to the adversities in her environment. One night her cousin read her pieces and encouraged her to begin sharing because she had words to heal. In the summer of 2010 she began to share her writings with Cincinnati and soon became a frequent attendee to the open mics around the city. She had her first feature on May 3, 2010 at the Lyricist Ave Project, she has also been in shows such as the Woman’s Oral Empowerment, The Battle of the Sexes, and The Lyrical Insurrection HBO Def Poetry edition. Still new to the Spoken Word scene she continues to learn and improve on her art and loves every minute. A new artist to the Spoken Word scene she is still finding her footing in the scene locally.   D.C. – “The Voice of Reason” David Lloyd Crouch relocated from St. Louis, MO to Miami, FL in September 2009. He is an aspiring author that has been doing Poetry for five years. GOD has gifted him in such a way that he has become forever passionate about the true “art form” of Spoken Word and its effectiveness. As a fresh face to the poetry scene, David has appeared as a regular at The Mahogany Grille, he has also appeared at The Lyric Café, Indigo 7, and University of Miami here in Miami, Fl.
