This January the Abbey Theatre embarks on a new initiative as it takes The Risen People on an Unplugged tour throughout Dublin, bringing the experience of live theatre into the heart of local communities. Developed by our Community and Education Department, the tour is designed to make the work of the national theatre accessible to a wider audience. The first stop was at Wheatfield Place of Detention (Prison) in Clondalkin, and RTÉ Morning Ireland's Cian McCormack was their for the historic occasion. Throughout the month of January, performances of The Risen People continue nightly on the Abbey stage from Tuesday to Saturday (as well as Saturday matinees) until the end of the run on 1 February.
